Come Join us for a day of reflection, processing, and moving forward as we reevaluate and set new goals for 2018. We will laugh, cry, and eat to 2017 as we prepare for the journey into the new year. It has been a challenging but yet rewarding year for some and I ask that people share their stories of disappointments and triumphs. The best thing about our annual celebration is that we really learn and grow each year and we take those lessons into every year.
Please come and help prepare care bags to help the homeless get through the winter. If you would like to get involved you can donate the following items: socks, snacks (nuts, crackers, dried fruit, trail mix, granola bars, breakfast bars, & water) Hygiene items (anti-bacterial lotion, small soaps, shampoo, lip balm, tampons, toothpaste, toothbrush, washcloth, comb, brush, deodorant, shoes, blankets. Please avoid mouthwash and hand sanitizer. We also need ziplock bags.
At our last event we had requests for toilet paper and tampons so please consider these items as well.
This year I would also like to add blankets and gift cards ($5-10 for Starbucks) as well to our donation list.
Please join us for a one day only screening of “Resilience: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope” to benefit the development of a local community center.

Researchers have recently discovered a dangerous biological syndrome caused by abuse and neglect during childhood. As the new documentary Resilience reveals, toxic stress can trigger hormones that wreak havoc on the brains and bodies of children, putting them at a greater risk for disease, homelessness, prison time, and early death. While the broader impacts of poverty worsen the risk, no segment of society is immune. Resilience, however, also chronicles the dawn of a movement that is determined to fight back. Trailblazers in pediatrics, education, and social welfare are using cutting-edge science and field-tested therapies to protect children from the insidious effects of toxic stress—and the dark legacy of a childhood that no child would choose.
