SelfActualizeMe understands that families just need a little extra support to reach their highest potential. Our community is dedicated to doing two things, develop a strong intern training program and provide support services to the community. Much of our services are supported by proceeds that come directly from our very own cafe.
Intern Training Program
- An opportunity to train in multiple practice areas.
- Formal, structured, and monitored supervision.
- Exposure to a standardized training curriculum.
- In-depth exposure to community agencies that support children, adolescent and families.
- An educational platform for learning ethical decision making.
- Exposure to administrative skills required to manage behavioral health clinics and services.
- An opportunity to develop community programs and groups.
- Work on wraparound case management.
Community Center Support Services
Our intern program allows for the development of our community service support. Our community center will support our wraparound case management, after-school and weekend program and community support services.
Wraparound Case Management & Community Support Services
As the name suggests, this strategy involves “wrapping” a comprehensive array of individualized services and support networks “around” family's rather than forcing them to enroll in pre-determined, inflexible treatment programs. Our intensive case management support will determine what areas families need additional support. Our community support services will focus on support services (meeting basic physiological needs) and providing business and career development.
After School & Weekend Program
We have developed a curriculum that will challenge students academically so that they will begin to perform above grade level.
Interns will provide tutoring services. Tutors will assist in problem solving, and focus on the assignments within the context they are assigned. Tutors will be actively involved/engaged in student's curriculum. Will track students progress in school and will follow-up with student's instructor to monitor any problems.
Programs will extend until the evenings and weekends so that students and families are able to actively participate in the program.
